I know that this post will not receive very many views at
all. I get that people want funny stuff, but I'm bored of it, thus why I
haven't posted in forever. But I did find a good subject to talk about. The
Emmy nominations came out not to long ago (TV awards for all the people who
were just born 4 days ago), and WOW, I do not like what I see. Click over to
this list (http://www.imdb.com/features/emmys/2007/emmys) to go along with me
as I give you a list as to how dumb these "voters" really are.

1. In the Best Comedy division, we have The Office, good. 30 Rock,
okay. Entourage, not the best season but it was fine. Two and a Half
Men, funny show but does it really deserve an Emmy? And Ugly Betty.
Wait, what? I thought this category was for comedy. Does anyone in the world
really think Ugly Betty is a better comedy than Scrubs or Extras?
(On a side note, the voters must all be women because no self-respecting guy
would vote for a show that takes place in a design bureau) That's strike number
one.

2. Lets go down to Best Drama. Right off the bat, Boston Legal. While I
don't say the show isn't good or doesn't deserve an Emmy, I am wondering what
category does this actually belong in? Since it started in 2004, it has had
nominations in: Outstanding TV Series - Comedy (2005), and Outstanding TV
Series - Drama (2004), both at the Satellite Awards. At the SAG awards,
Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Comedy Series (2006), and Outstanding
Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series (2007). So it's both a comedy and
a drama? And whichever category as a place open, it fills. Can it really be
Emmy "worthy" if people don't even know what type of show they are
watching? The rest of the nominees are: Heroes, awesome show but I don't
really think it can win. House, I've seen it a couple of times and its
okay. The Sopranos, well its really only being nominated because it's
ending. And finally Grey's Anatomy, what in the name of Bill Gates makes
anyone think this show is better than Prison Break or Lost? Which
brings up the fact that freakin' Lost isn't even nominated, even though
it had its best season to date, and the fact that it has 2 supporting character
noms. I even looked at the list of what episodes the show sent in to be judged,
and Lost sent in, what is arguably the greatest episode in the series'
history, and one of the best ever made ("Through the Looking Glass"). While Grey's
sent in "From a Whisper to a Scream," which has the plot synopsis of "A
traumatic car accident fills the ER; Cristina has a crisis of conscience about
her deceptive teamwork with Burke; Izzie pushes the boundaries of probation."
(imdb.com) wow, sounds interesting. Now look at Lost's: "While leading
the survivors to the radio transmission tower, Jack meets Ben and Alex on their
way. Ben invites Jack to talk with him alone in a clearing and tells that
Sayid, Jin and Bernard killed seven "The Others", but have been
captured and arrested. He calls Tom in a walkie-talkie and proposes to exchange
the lives of the trio per Naomi's radio. He tells that all the castaway would
be killed by Naomi's friends, who would not be who Jack thinks they are, but
Jack does not accept the deal and hears three shots. Jack hits and captures Ben
and promises to kill Tom. Meanwhile, Mikhail breaks into the Looking Glass,
shoots Greta and Bonnie following Ben's order, but Desmond shoots Mikhail with
a spear gun and saves Charlie. He convinces Bonnie to tell the password, and
she tells that it is the tune of Beach Boy's "Good Vibrations".
Charlie stops the jamming of the transmission and talks to Penny, who asks
their location and tells that she is not offshore in the vessel. On the camp,
Hurley uses the Kombi, hits one enemy and together with Sawyer and Juliet, they
save Sayid, Jin and Bernard. Jack is completely wasted, drunken and drugged,
stealing drugs in the hospital, going to a funeral service, meeting Kate nearby
the airport and telling her that they must return to the island." (imdb.com)
Yes, that is the actual quote. And just one more thing... The viewers of Grey's
voted their episode a 7.8, while Lost's is at a 9.7. But I'm just
sayin'.

3. Let's keep going down the list shall we? Best Movie,
could care less. Miniseries, I only like to watch an actual series... Ah, Lead
Actor in a Comedy. Alec Baldwin, he's not really lead, but funny enough. Steve
Carell, great job there (but he won't win because they need a bigger name, and
Baldwin just happens to be there, huh). Ricky Gervais, for this nomination I
would like to thank the Emmy voters for actually putting a genius of comedy in
this category, and also someone who hasn't had this nom for 20 years. Tony
Shalhoub, great actor on Monk, but seriously he's won like ten times, we
get it, he's great. And last, Charlie Sheen. This feels strange to argue this,
as I watch 2aaHM a lot and think it's really funny, but couldn't this go
to someone who isn't just playing himself? Like maybe one of the guys from It's
Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which I still don't know why it hasn't been
nomed for best show yet...

4. This is my second to last I swear. Keepin on down the
list, Best Actor drama, looks all good. And I see that Boston Legal is a
Drama in the acting categories. Good to know. Lead Actress in Comedy, since I
don't watch any of those shows regularly, 'cept 30 Rock, this section would
probably be 2 pages of complaining. So lets move on. Lead Actress in Drama,
strange that only one actress here is on a show in the Best Show category, that
makes a lot of sense. Lead Actor and Actress in miniseries; do you ever have
the feeling that these categories are only made so people like Helen Mirren and
Robert Duvall can get nominated for the umpteenth time? Supporting Actor in
Comedy category. The first name is Jon Cryer for 2aaHM, really? I could
have sworn that he was the main and Sheen was the support, but I guess big
names get the biggest respect. The rest of the actors here though are spot on.
Rainn Wilson and Kevin Dillon both receiving noms is a huge step in the right
direction, even though we all pretty much know Ari is going to win.

5. I am going to be skipping around the place now, because
this is my last number, I promised, and also #4 really didn't seem like a rant
did it. Anywhoo, I see the "Reality" Program now has 2 parts (one competition
and the other just "reality", which means documentary in TV land). Amazing
Race should win every year on the sole fact that it's the only one that is
really "competition" and not "judging." As for the other "reality" category, I
have no idea what The Dog Whisperer is and there is honestly no other
"reality" program better than Antiques Roadshow? And the last category I
want to talk about is Best Animated show. Big props (did I use that right) to
the Emmy voters for putting in Robot Chicken, but I'm pretty sure the
only reason is because Seth Green is behind it, and you can't have Emmy without
a famous name. South Park is fine, but it's on its 11th
season and starting to feel old, speaking of old, The Simpsons are
nominated... again. Even though the show is all but funny now, and has been since
the 9th season ended. The other two nominees are strange. The first
is Spongebob Squarepants, I thought this show got cancelled like 2 years
ago. Whenever I flip past it, it's the same damn episode from 1999. The last
show is something called Avatar which I've never seen, so I can't rag on
it much, but its on Nickelodeon so I can only assume that it has 5 episodes per
season and will run on an incessant loop all day long. Clearly The Simpsons
have the edge here, based solely on the fact that they have a movie coming out,
and its good publicity to win an Emmy.

So there you go, my thoughts on the Emmy nominations. Keep
in mind though, I still have a lot more, and that was the shortened version. I
know, crazy right? For all those that got all the way down here and finished,
thank you for reading what may have been the least productive 2 hours of my
life. Peace Out.

Another hilarious video from funnyordie.com, this time it has Michael Cera (that kid from Arrested Development) getting into a fight with the director of Knocked Up. It looks kinda real since you can see the timecodes at the beginning, but the higher camera view pretty much tells you its fake.
Wow, I was not expecting this trailer to show up on the internets
today. I really like this trailer, but also dispise it at the same
time. After watching it, I thought to myself "DIDN'T JACK DIE AT THE
END OF THE SECOND MOVIE?!" Within the first ten seconds of the trailer
they give away the friggen surprise that they actually find him At World's End.
It's ridiculous, but I guess the marketing team didn;t think a
Jack-less trailer would bring in the kiddies (who are blissfully
unaware that Jac Sparrow used to have knives for fingers). Anyway here's the trailer:
